5 factors that harm your teeth

Teeth are given to us for life, if you do not take into account the milk bite, with which we have to live very shortly. They do not grow back and cannot regenerate, like other tissues in our body. Therefore, you need to take care of them with special effort. There are many unfavorable factors that affect the health of teeth throughout life. Some of them can cause serious diseases, some even contribute to the loss of crowns. Let's consider several factors that have an adverse effect on teeth:

  1. Bad habits. This applies to both general and local. Common - smoking, junk food, alcohol, energy drinks. They have a direct effect on the enamel and indirectly affect the condition of the periodontal tissues. Local bad habits - foreign objects between teeth, biting through very hard foods, chewing tobacco. Some narcotic substances also belong here, and teeth suffer greatly from them.

  2. Lack of satisfactory hygiene. This problem always remains relevant. Laziness, lack of time and desire do not allow a person to devote as much time to his teeth as necessary. This also leads to the appearance of diseases of the teeth and gums.

  3. Refusal of dental treatment or untimely access to a doctor. Not everyone understands that dental diseases do not go away on their own. Even if the symptoms disappear, it is temporary, and may indicate the transition of pathology into a chronic course. In addition, many diseases of the teeth and gums, without timely treatment, entail other pathologies.

  4. Injuries, loss of teeth. In the event of a chipped enamel, with a fracture, loss of a crown, the entire jaw ceases to function normally. This is because the load becomes uneven. This affects the periodontium the most, but also the bone and other teeth located next to the defect.

  5. Harmful foods and drinks. High carbohydrate intake increases the risk of tooth decay. Also, the enamel suffers from sour, sweet, very hot and icy. As for the appearance of teeth, food coloring is bad for it.

These are not all factors that have a bad effect on the teeth and the entire oral cavity. In order to protect yourself from dental problems as much as possible, it is recommended to talk to your dentist, who will give recommendations on individual characteristics.
